Project Outline

Coillte was awarded funding under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund to build the remaining phases of its national mountain-bike (MTB) centres. A significant project costing €13m+ delivered over 3 years that has seen new MTB centres at Coolaney, Ballinastoe, Ballyhoura, Slieve Blooms and Ticknock. The centres are a hub for the MTB community and included design and construction of more than 300kms of MTB trails, car-parking, visitor buildings, signage and waymarking.

Long O Donnell (LOD) were commissioned to provide specialist consultancy support, specifically project management, quantity surveying consultation and procurement advisor services.  LOD managed the procurement of the framework agreement for Architect led Integrated Design Teams, under EU public procurement regulations.
